Community Advocate, Mother, Grandmother. Your Voice on the Dysart USD Governing Board.
I am a dedicated community advocate, a mother, and a grandmother. My record of service includes years of fighting for what is right in our community. From standing up against the BNSF intermodal hub to supporting responsible energy solutions, I have consistently shown up to ask the hard questions. I have spent years advocating for the families of the West Valley. Now I am ready to bring that same commitment and accountability to the Dysart Unified School District Governing Board
As a mother and grandmother who has lived in this community for years, I have seen firsthand how vital our schools are to the strength of the West Valley. I am running because I believe strong schools build strong neighborhoods. I want to ensure that the excellence Dysart is known for continues to benefit every family moving into our district today.
Dysart is more than just a school district; it is the heart of our community. Our schools provide more than education. They are places where families gather, where kids discover their potential, and where our community comes together. Protecting that excellence is about more than test scores. It is about preserving what makes the West Valley a great place to raise a family.
I’m running because our schools need someone who will fight for them the same way I’ve fought for our community on other issues. Someone who will ask the tough questions, demand accountability, and always put students and teachers first. That’s the commitment I’m making to you.
Long before running for school board, I was fighting for West Valley families. Here’s how I’ve shown up when it mattered most.
Elected by peers to lead one of the West Valley's most active Republican district committees, managing governance, communications, and community engagement across Surprise and surrounding areas.
Led the community effort opposing the BNSF intermodal hub, fighting to protect Dysart students from increased truck traffic, air pollution, and safety risks near our schools.
Championed the 2025 Dysart bond and override, standing up for the resources our teachers, staff, and students need to maintain the excellence Dysart families expect.
A regular presence at Dysart board meetings and Surprise City Council chambers, Lisa has been asking hard questions and advocating for West Valley families long before this campaign began.
Earned the endorsement of current Dysart Governing Former Board President Dawn Densmore, named Arizona School Board Member of the Year, who recognizes Lisa's commitment to protecting Dysart's excellence.

I have called the West Valley home for 7 years, and what I found here exceeded every expectation. This community is generous, hardworking, and deeply invested in the next generation and that is exactly why I am running.
As a mother and grandmother, I do not see Dysart schools in the abstract. I see the classrooms my grandchildren will sit in, the teachers who will shape who they become, and the neighbors who show up at school events, city meetings, and community gatherings because they care. That is the West Valley I know, and protecting it is personal to me.
My commitment to Dysart is not something I arrived at recently. I have attended board meetings, participated in community events, visited schools across the district, and stood up at public forums when our students and families needed a voice. Long before I was a candidate, I was a neighbor who showed up.
I believe strong schools build strong neighborhoods. When our children thrive, our community thrives. That is the legacy I want to help build, not just for my grandchildren, but for every family in this district.
As former Chair of Arizona Legislative District 29, I have spent years navigating complex policy, building coalitions, and making decisions that affect thousands of West Valley families. That experience translates directly to the work of a governing board member.
I have consistently shown up when it counted most. I led the community effort against the proposed BNSF intermodal hub, pressing local officials to oppose a project that would have brought increased truck traffic, air pollution, and safety risks to students and families across the West Valley. I championed the 2025 bond and override to protect school funding and have been a visible, vocal presence at Dysart board meetings and Surprise City Council chambers for years.
My record reflects a leader who researches the issues, asks the hard questions, and puts families first.

I am not a career politician or an education administrator. Instead, I bring a proven track record of advocacy and a deep personal investment in the success of Dysart schools. I have spent years attending board meetings and engaging with teachers and parents. My experience involves fighting for our community on complex issues and demanding accountability from leadership. I understand how to analyze information and work collaboratively to make decisions that serve the whole community. This is the exact perspective needed on our school board.

Dysart's A rating isn't just a letter—it's a promise to families that their children will receive an excellent education. My vision is to protect and strengthen that promise by ensuring every school in our district has the resources, support, and leadership needed to reach its full potential. No school left behind, no student overlooked.

Our teachers are the foundation of educational excellence. I envision a district where educators are compensated competitively, supported professionally, and respected for the critical work they do. When we invest in our teachers, we invest in every student they'll inspire for years to come.

Great schools don't exist in isolation—they're built through partnership between educators, families, and the broader community. I envision a Dysart where parents feel heard, teachers feel valued, and community members see our schools as the backbone of neighborhood strength and property values.
This vision isn’t just mine it’s what every Dysart family wants for their children. Together, we can protect the excellence we’ve built while preparing our schools for the challenges ahead. Join me in this fight for Dysart’s future.
